Excuse the lack of posts over the past few days, internet access has been dodgy at best but we seem to have a good wireless connection now, so here goes!
Vanessa went down in the last round of qualies, Daphne lost first round main draw. Stephanie lost in round of 16. The girls need a couple more weeks on the clay as their movement lacks a touch of fluency. Their stroke making is awesome so watch out for more improved results in the coming weeks. There is still success at this tournament as Steph picked up another 10 ITF points.
The team will have a day off tomorrow and will be back at base on Thursday. Sign in for Santiago is Friday afternoon. At the moment, Steph is 6 out of main draw and Vanessa and Daphne will definitely be in qualies. The boys have a long alternate list but they had the same list this week so hopefully that will not stand in their way.
The troops are still finding their feet on the clay but things look really promising and it will be interesting to see who makes the most of their opportunites. We are still looking into Brazil and this trip is yet to be confirmed as we are still waiting for the cut off lists. I am of the belief that we are going but will wait to make a decision over the next week.
Tonight, we all went for a walk out on the beach front where there were market stalls and lots of activity as its Chile's National holiday today. The kids were relaxed and well behaved and are starting to pick up a bit of Spanish language and culture. They are also getting more used to the different food and attitudes here and are adapting accordingly. I am very proud of all of them so far.
Please check out our South America Photo album as well, of the Vina del Mar action.
